DIN number or Directors Identification Number is a unique identification number of person who get from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs who intends to be a director of a company in India. Director Identification Number (DIN) has been introduced for the first time with the insertion of Sections 266A to 266G of Companies (Amendment) Act, 2006. As such, all the existing and intending Directors have to obtain DIN within the prescribed time frame as notified.

ABOUT DIN
DIN Number of a director is a special 8-digit number that permit a person to legally act as a Director of a company & partner of LLP. The DIN number is granted for a lifetime validity. The DIN is a permanent number and does not change even if a director resigns or is removed from the company.
The central Government and its authorised administration process and verify the received Form DIR-3. Further, they will examine the rules provided in Section 154 of the Companies Act, 2013. Further, it includes Rule 10 of the Companies Rules 2014 (Employment and Limitation of Director) when examining DIN number allocation to an applicant.
