DEFINITION OF FSSAI
FSSAI has been created for laying down science based standards for articles of food and to regulate their manufacture, storage, distribution, sale and import to ensure availability of safe and wholesome food for human consumption. The FSSAI License is required to run a food business. FSSAI License is make good impression on customer. TYPE OF FSSAI LICENSE
BASIC REGISTRATION
Proprietorship in the food business with yearly revenue of up to INR 12 lakhs are required to obtain a basic FSSAI license in order to register. Manufacturers, retailers, distributors, storage and transporters, as well as distributors, will all need this license.
STATE LICENSE
A state license is granted by the State Authorities functioning in each state. This is in accordance with the FSS Regulations, 2011. Based on the eligibility, food business operators may fall under State License or Registration. A state license is awarded to those that have a turnover of Rs. 12 lakhs to 20 crores and operate within a particular state only.
CENTRAL LICENSE
A Central FSSAI license is a license issued by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to food businesses operating at a national or central level. This license is required for businesses that manufacture, process, package, store, distribute, or import food products. Must have an annual turnover of more than Rs. 20 Crores who wants to start a business of import/export of food items and a business for selling food items on their own e-commerce website.
